I have, according to AO3, 8 works-in-progress. ‘Works in progress’ is a funny way to shorthand what is, in six of eight cases, something better defined as ‘the brain was bad and the piece of media was an interest so we started a very long ramble about the badbrains characters therein that was the dropped when the brain got a bit better or the interest moved on’, but I have decided this is the year I decide What Is Up with these. So.


things that will definitely get finished;


don’t go down to the woods today (tumblr, ao3): seven different ways rey’s journey to ahch-to could have gone, using d&d 5e’s ‘time shift in the feywild’ table to decide how time moves on ahch-to. 2 of 7 chapters complete, 2 more mostly-outlined.


break the rules, burn your bridges (tumblr, ao3): the modern au version of siege & storm. 4 of 8 chapters complete, pretty good idea of how the last half is gonna go (it does, after all, follow s&s).


in hard armoured words we are drowned (tumblr, ao3): the west wing through the eyes of carol fitzpatrick. 4 chapters of ?? complete, spanning up to earlyish-s2. needs more outlining and thought and for me to actually watch seasons 6 and 7 (….i know), but it’s possible, and (importantly) is important to a lot of the people who leave comments on it.


things i really wanna finish but are less high on the priority list;


what it’s like to outfly the night (tumblr, ao3): babylon 5, except anna sheridan took command in s2 instead of john. prologue chapters and season 1 posted, a lot of Thoughts(TM) about everything else. well-loved, but also hideously complex and (lbr) self indulgent. i’ll get to it, eventually.


things that may or may not get finished (and probably need a shitton of edits to extant chapters if they do get finished);


not playing by the rules we played the game of loss (tumblr, ao3): the version of supergirl’s myriad plot where alex and astra plot to fake astra’s death. i don’t?? remember where i was going with this?? i don’t remember why i thought this needed to be a multichapter thing instead of just a longfic?? i got impatient and started posting in bits and pieces early, huh. maybe this belongs in category five. finished (pulled and re-posted as a single fic rather than chapters) as part of wipbigbang


so bring on your wrecking ball (tumblr, ao3): a spooks-nikita fusion where ros once briefly trained with division and goes there to lie low while she’s ‘dead’. posted to ao3 to save it from my lj-purge, and while i wanna finish it eventually, realistically it hasn’t been touched since 2012, and wow could it use editing and the benefit of my more nuanced views of some of these characters.


things that probably won’t get finished;


no one ever came back here to die (tumblr, ao3): regina, during ouat’s missing year, and how tink and mal and ruby helped her through it. i was in s u c h a bad headspace when i was writing this, i have very little desire to revisit it.


things that will probably get pulled and be re-uploaded later in different and better form;


like breaking diamonds with your hand (tumblr, ao3): the asuran!elizabeth comes back to atlantis for s4 au we all deserve. i put a 200 word prologue up, had ~6k more of random scenes written, and, uh. it needs a lot of editing, after which i am fairly certain those 200 words will no longer be the prologue.


(The moral of this post is that while I start writing things For Me, once they get Very Long I am most likely to finish things that I have genuine evidence other people enjoy. Comment on fics, y’all)
