horror fic recs x5
So
snickfic mentioned wanting more rec posts, which reminded me I've had two horror recs open in a draft for ... a while ... and I've not wanted to post them since reccing only two things seemed silly. But! I was inspired to go poking round my bookmarks and see if I had anything else to add, and look, I did!
So: Multifandom, mostly gothic/cosmic/psychological horror, other additional warnings in fic tags when you click through to AO3. Alphabetical by fandom.

If you, like me, finished watching Critical Role's Call of Cthulhu oneshot and went 'wait but why did all my favourites get trapped in the mirrors?' you might like this look at what might've happened to them! Actually, lbr, it's a great fic and you'll like it no matter who your faves were.

So: yes, this is a WIP, though each chapter stands alone so it's less 'oh no what happens next' and more 'better subscribe so I can meet the next Changeling when the new chapter goes up'. It's a collection of interview transcripts with escaped Changelings, with some incredible True Fae/Arcadia worldbuilding, and every sketch is just delightfully chilling.

Post-canon, Lucille keeps Edith alive against the house and the growing loneliness. Chilling and claustrophobic and even more perfectly gothic than the film.

waketosleep
Wondefully reminiscent of early-seasons case-of-the-week episodes, eerily atmospheric with a fittingly ambiguous ending.
Consummation. star wars sequel trilogy, rey/kylo. 2.8k words, not rated. by
QueenOfCarrotFlowers
In which Kylo's way of showing his devotion to Rey is to let her eat him. Joyful and obsessive in all the best ways.

Six people went into the British Museum to retrieve an artifact from the darkness, but three returned. The other three still remain, somewhere else, as reflections and shadows.

A collection of audio transcripts from different changelings, as they struggle to describe the abstract and alien natures their Keepers. To be updated as the collection grows.

You are coming to understand that love and hatred are not easy for Lucille Sharpe to distinguish.

Idyllic settings were getting in the habit of making Olivia's skin crawl.

Kylo wants to give himself to Rey, and she is more than happy to take him.
