fic-in-a-box

Hello friend, it is time for fics and possibly fanmixes in boxes and I am so excited to see what you will write for me! If you want inspiration beyond this letter I am also [archiveofourown.org profile] kimaracretak, where I have a small but reflective-of-things-I-like set of bookmarks, and kimaracretak on 8tracks if you want #aesthetic musical inspiration.

I love all these canons for the worldbuilding and mytharcs as well as their characters and relationships, and I am easy to please as long as you stay away from my DNWs (both general and canon-specific), so don't feel like you Have to write any of my specific prompts. Don't read anything into relative lengths of sections, I am equally happy to get something for anything in this letter! Some of these prompts are reused from old letters, and if you have written them for me before, rest assured that I loved your fic, I am simply greedy and would like to see every possible take on my favourite scenarios. A lot of my prompts are very horror-slanted, but if your muse is inclined to things less murderous, feel free! That being said, I'm extremely not into plotless/conflictless fluff or 'soft' takes on these characters/canons, and would prefer you avoid them.

I love everything from short introspection bits to long plotty missionfic to sex scenes as ways to explore character/setting/worldbuilding, and I don't need a lot of romance in my ships: sex for power, manipulation, or just between friends who want to have fun is also great. Please no unrequested ships unless specifically allowed for, but feel free to combine any compatible ones from my requested ones.

Opt-ins

I am requesting the same four opt-ins for all my fandoms. I've talked a bit about what I like about all of them here, but, as with my fandom prompts, feel free to use or disregard as you see fit.

  • Length Opt-In: 666 words exactly: What it says on the tin! This number just amuses me greatly, you don't have to make these smaller fics ones that explicitly deal with devils.

  • Medium Opt-In: Fanmixes: I LOVE FANMIXES. Left to my own devices I listen to a lot of metal of virtually all subgenres (blackgaze/symphonic/doom/death/power/pop I could go on), a lot of folk music, and a lot of synthpop, but that being said, I request fanmixes partially because I love finding new music, so, seriously, go whatever genre you like/think is fitting! I have a mild preference for female vocalists (introduce me to all yr fave obscure female-fronted black metal bands pls) but it's really really mild. I like seeing what particular lyrics from a song you think are most fitting for the character/ship, but I don't expect detailed annotations (would never say no to them though!) I have a strained relationship with spotify and use either 8tracks or OpenWhyd for hosting my own mixes these days, but as long as I have enough info of where to find the songs, I don't really care where you host it - you could give me a list of ten songs and your favourite lyrics from each with a random assortment of bandcamp/youtube/soundcloud links and I'll be like yes time to get all these songs and make my playlist on my laptop so i have it forever, because I like permanence.

  • Medium Opt-In: Interactive Fiction: I have no preference for AO3-style or Twine-style, and have no CSS-based DNWs for Twine games. I do really love second person IFs, but if you think a different POV works best, go for it!

  • Medium Opt-In: Epistolary:I like the idea of physical letters, even if it's a canon with emails.

Changeling: The Lost

General: CtL is the tabletop game of my whole entire heart and I just want to live in that world a bit more! I have a slight preference for stories set in Arcadia or the Hedge, but absolutely will not say no to Earth-set ones. Sourcebook-wise, I am most familiar with Dancers in the Dusk, Winter Masques, and Night Horrors. I especially love oneiromancy and am super weak for stories that contrast the deep sense of place/setting with changelings' very tenuous sense of self. Adhere as strictly or loosely to game mechanics as feels right for your story. I have some specific freeform tags for this in my Darkest Night letter if you want to use those for inspiration.

Ambrosia: Mm, characters who want to kill and eat and become their gods Fae are always a weakness of mine, and Ambrosia is no different.
  • I'd love to see something about her years of transformation - her trades with witches for Glamour, her heists to decorate her hollow, legends of the Gentry that she found and read, Summer Court balls that she went to.

  • Mimicry and murder as acts of love and appreciation, Changelings that she found and ensnared, what happens when someone brings her a captured member of the Gentry.

  • Femslash or gen equally welcome.

  • Her wiki page, for reference.

Dove Knife-Dancer: Listen I just really love assassins. All the pretty body horror and murder for Dove, please.
  • Training new recruits (or dispatching ones who refuse the Doves' oath).

  • Expanding the Doves' mission statement and going on a mission to kill a True Fae.

  • Did she ever meet a changeling she was suppose to kill but couldn't?

  • Her wiki page, for reference.

Liz Malloy: SO that bit in Night Horrors about how "her oath, however, is not with the Lost of the Emerald Court, but with the season of Spring itself, and Spring has not had its fill of Liz Malloy yet"? That whole entire thing is my favourite sort of thing, and I want to read all the stories about it.
  • Bargaining with eldritch nature, sending mortals and Lost back to her Keeper.

  • Pretty body horror where she slowly becomes a tree or some other symbol of Spring.

  • Her wiki page, for reference.

Naamah: Terrible politicking by my favourite terrible child queen!
  • Naamah has a good day, which she would probably get by making other people's days miserable (Naamah murders a mortal girl! Naamah traps a disobedient courtier in a book! Naamah goes dreamwalking and vivisects people in their nightmares! Naamah and her vampire lover plot and scheme and maybe eat someone

  • I don't love a lot of Changeling: The Dreaming but the bit in Dark Ages: Fae about Autumn blood allows a vampire to read the surface thoughts of others (as Auspex 4), but all thoughts of those within a fifteen-foot radius intrude upon her mind (spend a Willpower point per scene to focus on any specific thoughts).? Extremely good, give Naamah a vampire lover and explore what happens when she drinks Naamah's blood and the effect that has on their court.

  • Alternatively, Naamah could have a terrible day and emerge victorious (Naamah punishes a would-be assassin, Naamah gets lost in the Hedge for REASONS and has to bargain her way out, Naamah is forced to become a True Fae, but makes the best of it).

  • Or backstory! Naamah backstory is also excellent, about her Keeper and her escape.

  • Anything that leans into her Antiquarian kith is great.

  • Her wiki page, for reference.

Original Female Darkling or Original Female Elemental: I requested these two specifically because they're my favourite seemings, but honestly - feel free to do whatever you like with this! Pick whatever kith you like, include whichever True Fae or other changelings or hobgoblins or Kindred you want to explore, write femslash or gen as the mood strikes you, I will be thrilled.
  • I like explorations of the Hedge, interactions between Changelings and their Fetches, dreamsharing/dreamwalking, and stories about the formation of Motleys.

  • I tend to play ambiguously-willingly-self-destructing-into-True-Fae high-Wyrd/low-Clarity changelings, but am here for whichever combination of Wyrd/Clarity you want to write.

  • Not to be the most predicatable but body horror super super encouraged.

  • If you write shipfic, I would like it to be f/f, but you can pair the changeling with another changeling or a True Fae and make it as healthy or as unhealty/dubcon-y as you like (background m/m or m/f, eg between other members of the Changeling's motley, is totally fine, I just want whatever relationship the fic is About to be f/f).

The Rogue Sister:Morpheans and dreamweirdness and betrayal, yes please! The Rogue Sister is my favourite of the lot, what with coming from the void of unfinished dreams and having the potential to break the Wyrd into pieces.
  • What changelings does she bargain with, what stories are told about her, what dreams has she created and visited?

  • Her name implies a connection to the Pale Brother - what does their relationship look like?

  • Feel free to ship or genship her with any of the other characters I've requested - especially interested in seeing her with Liz Malloy, and how Morphean dreams might change Liz's path for better or worse.

  • Her wiki page, for reference.

Clique

General: Overall I liked series 1 a lot more than series 2, so I have a slight preference for fics set in that time period. Character death DNW waived for canon deaths. References to canon rapes fine but I would prefer no on-screen rape.

Fay & Rachel & Phoebe & Louise: Fay survives the hospital roof, somehow. What does she promise Rachel? Is anything actually better? Alternatively, Fay haunts the other girls, and Phoebe and Louise confront Rachel about what she did. Feel free to include any ships between the four of them, or any other femslash (e.g. Rachel/Holly).

Elizabeth/Holly: Fucked-up comfort sex when Holly moves back into the halls. Post-canon summer. Elizabeth ends up at Solasta instead of Holly.

Georgia/Holly: I'd love to see them pre-canon, becoming friends and dealing with the (more literal this time) ghost of the girl Holly killed. Or AUs of s2 where they stay in Edinburgh together and try - or don't try - to cope with what happened to them. Georgia suffering at Solasta and thinking it's worth it for Holly.

Jude/Holly: I would love something that picks up on Holly's 'I don't lose control, ever' - how much more might she tell Jude? How might Jude take advantage of that? Alll the fucked up mentorship and being-bad-at-affection please!

Rachel/Holly: Okay the bit of s2 that I hold extremely close to my heart is i'm home / which home? / ours. and, look, give the murder girlfriends their murder house by the sea somehow, they deserve it!

Gemini (2017)

General: Gemini is a quiet, neon-soaked neo-noir movie about an actress, her personal assistant, and her murder. It's also about mirrors, and long motorcycle rides through a very empty Southern California, and how nothing in that first sentence is really true. It's streaming on Hulu and it's REALLY GOOD and you should watch it kthx. Prompts contain movie-destroying spoilers.

Note: Character death DNW waived for the canon one.

Heather & Jamie: I love unlikely friendships like theirs! How did they meet? Did Jamie know more about the Sierra thing than she let on?

Heather & or / Jill: Any level of shippy, including unrequited Jill -> Heather is excellent. I prefer pre- or post-canon fic for them. For pre-canon: first meetings, first film they worked on together. For post-canon: a look at their lives running their own studio together, maybe trying to make a film about everything that happened with Sierra. Outsider POV on their relationship from Tracy or Jamie would also be really interesting, especially because it seems like most of Heather's people don't like Jill a lot - what's the story there?

Heather & or / Sierra: Stalking! I would love to see something that plays with their visual similarities, especially in a haunted house scenario (haunted houses in the canyons Good in all scenarios tbh). Drugs + hallucinations? Was Sierra really supposed to die, or was it an accident? Did she agree to die for Heather and never imagine Heather was serious?

Heather/Tracy: Murder girlfriends on a murder road trip! Sierra may have been an accident, but I would love to see what would happen if Heather got a taste for it and went after other people who had wronged and/or irritated her. Canon divergence where Tracy succeeds in drugging Jill at her house and bringing her up to the cabin - they can genuinely have Jill's best interests at heart or not, as you like. Vampire AU, where Heather worries about not only dating a woman but also dating someone who doesn't know what she is.

Jamie & or / Jill: I love the weird imbalanced dislike here - Jill's near-hatred of Jamie balanced against Jamie's bland acceptance of Jill because she likes Heather enough - and how that might play out in the future, especially if Heather continues killing people. Jill using Jamie as a Heather-replacement also encouraged!

Jill & or / Tracy: Coming together over their love of Heather, or using each other as Heather-replacements. How they met, or how they try to protect Heather or each other post-canon.

Hannibal (TV)

General: I love this gorgeous dark dreamy murder show and I love all the ladies. I have some freeforms in this year's Darkest Night letter that I'd love to see in any of these requests.

Note: Character death DNW waived for casefic OFCs and all canon characters except Alana, Bedelia, Freddie, and Beverly.

Abigail/Freddie: I think she genuinely cared about Abigail (her 'very smart girls who grow up' line hit me way harder than I was prepared for), and I would be delighted to read 10k of their mind games in really any context.
  • Freddie follows Will and Abigail to Minnesota at the end of season 1, and they end up going into hiding together.

  • Freddie and Abigail writing that book, but Abigail was the Minnesota Shrike either for all the kills or just Cassie+Marissa. (It took me til episode 12 to figure out that she didn't kill Cassie and Marissa. I am slow, friends). Freddie gets to enjoy being a serial killer's personal photographer/biographer, and also indulge her penchant for making things up so they don't get caught.

  • Folk horror! Freddie stumbles into an Abigail-and-Marissa-led murder commune in Minnesota and gets much more than she bargained for.

Alana/Abigail: They both spend a lot of time circling around killers, between Abigail luring girls for her father and Alana being her catnip-forkillers self, so I would really like something that explores what happens when those two get put together for much longer than they were in canon.
  • Hannibal is basically just Terrible Boundaries Therapy: The Show and I would love some genuinely affectionate but also really profoundly terrible therapy sessions between these two. Shrike!Abigail or Ripper!Alana trying to hide their true nature from the other is a bonus.

  • Alana gets herself put down as one of Abigial's guardians. She absolutely has Abigail's best interests at heart, but it looks appalling from the outside.

  • Abigail follows Alana out the window willingly or not. What changes?

  • Ripper!Alana takes Shrike!Abigail as an apprentice.

  • If you include smut (in any of these scenarios), I like the idea of Alana spanking Abigail.

Alana/Bedelia: I mostly just want them being hot and terrifying and brilliant, in any way you like.
  • Roleswap! I am 1000% here for all Ripper!Bedelia/FBI!Alana or Ripper!Alana/FBI!Bedelia AUs, whether they start out on those roles or one of them manipulates the other into killing.

  • Any kind of therapy session(s) between the two, in one of those AUs or in canon.

  • One of them seducing the other away from Hannibal.

  • Post-Italy debriefs.

Alana/Beverly: Not to be repetitive but - Ripper!Alana/Investigator!Beverly AUs. In canonverse, I feel like their relationship would look relatively happy from the outside, but given Alana's penchant for overthinking and Beverly's ability to hyperfocus in on tiny details, I think they'd be equally likely to be terrible or wonderful for each other, and I'd love something about how they balance that.

Alana/Freddie: Listen, I'm shallow: hot manipulative ladies who should manipulate each other, that's basically it, that's fundamentally all my prompts.
  • You can never go wrong with Ripper!Alana/Investigator!Freddie AUs

  • They get together in the middle of season 2 while Freddie's playing dead, and Alana's initially just trying to prove Hannibal's innocent but Freddie slowly convinces her of the truth

  • Alana cheating on Margot with Freddie - either a one night stand or a longer con. Margot joining in excellent but not required.

Beverly/Freddie: I think a lot about how Freddie has to live with knowing that Hannibal chose her to be the first one to see Beverly's body, and they just - there's so much understated almost about them in the show, and I'd like to see what happens when they're given the chance to be together for longer.
  • Beverly as one of Freddie's sources. Sleeping together is supposed to be just about getting information for both of them, but the genuine affection surprises them both.

  • Murder basement/2x04 AU. If they had teamed up Hannibal would not have stood a chance, I am just saying! Or, Hannibal is bad at killing Just For Business and leads Freddie to a Beverly who's only mostly dead.

  • Alive!Beverly and Freddie in hiding together mid-s2

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

General: I dropped out of the active fandom for this ages ago, and am definitely more of an early-seasons fan (up through the end of season 9, though I've seen through the end of 13), but if you want to set it somewhere more recent in the timeline, that's cool too! SVU has a really particular sort of mood, a cold comfort that's not quite bleak and not quite hopeful, and I'm really interested in the ways in which the female lawyers & judges negotiate their particular vocabularies of justice and care. I've seen Conviction but didn't really like it, so feel free to ignore it. If you want to combine any of these into an OT3, feel absolutely free.

Alex/Casey: I love the brief moments they had together and I want more, especially without witness protection hanging over Alex's head.
  • Season 13 AUs where they really, properly share SVU and SVU cases. Let Alex pass on advice and information and connections, let Casey have a sympathetic peer when things get too rough at work.

  • Something where they find each other during the time Casey's suspended - turning to Alex to help understand how to put her life with the law on hold, while Alex adjusts to coming back from having her life on hold.

Alex/Olivia: Sometimes I feel like the show is actively trying to get me to stop shipping them but no they're old and forever favourites and I want more of them. More of their decades of being grounding, important, loved presences in each others' lives, more making the world better, more connecting and reconnecting over and over again. More hugs that don't need ... whatever 'Sunk Cost Fallacy' was leading up to them.
  • I feel like there's a 'standard' set of episodes that get A/O post-ep fic (Guilt, Fallacy, &c), so I'd be really interested to see post-eps for some of the less-often-used ones — Manhunt, Wrath, Surveillance, Chameleon, any of your other favourites.

  • Conviction but Alex isn't engaged to a dude and she tries to reconnect with Olivia — tentatively, with difficulty and some false starts, but they try.

  • Season 10 or 13 reconnections that ignore Conviction completely, especially if Alex doesn't leave again at the end. Post-eps for any of the s10-13 episodes with an A/O spin.

  • You can never go wrong with noir AUs or 'everything is the same but also vampires' AUs.

  • A handful of moody song prompts, if you like those: 'Bones', MS MR, 'Symphony of Light', Phantasma, 'In the White', Katatonia.

Alex/Liz: I love the thin line between mentorship and desire they walk, and I'd love to see them negotiating that over Alex's departures and returns. They push each other in such important ways and I want to see all the ways in which they help each other grow. If writing shipfic, any and all power-dynamic negotiations.
  • A version of Conviction where Alex's relationship is with Liz instead of that guy.

  • AU where she never goes into witness protection. How does their relationship progress, especially after Liz becomes a judge? Alex & Casey would be an excellent additional relationship for this.

  • Roleswap (Judge!Alex and ADA!Liz).

  • Some kind of not-friends-but-definitely-with-sex-benefits things, where the point isn't even necessarily sex but just getting out of their own heads for some time. In this scenario, I would also be really interested to see how the relationship ends, not because they stop caring for each other, but because that stops being helpful, and how they negotiate that change in their relationship.

Alex & Lena: They had one of my absolute favourite attorney-judge relationships in any L&O - you look like hell, Alexandra, get some sleep is SUCH a particular kind of care, and their respect even manages to survive 'Guilt', I want infinitely more of it.
  • I'd love something with epistolary elements here. Legal briefs, motions filed, email exchanges, the like.

  • S10 or S13 reunions. I feel like Alex was really cut off from mentorships at that point, and she could really use someone to talk to.

Lost Girl

General: I love the Fae politics and the potential for pretty body horror (and, just, horror in general) - it's what the show lured me in with and then, well, they turned Evony human and I got sad >.> Less of that and more Fae shenanigans please. Feel free to bring in more elements of traditional Irish Mythology Morrigan if you want.

Bo/Evony: I can never resist the potential for a fraught sexy dubiously moral Fae mentorship and, like, canon gave me a tiny bit but I want MORE. Bo siding with the Dark Fae, and how the whole rest of the show changes, or Bo having to do more for/with the Dark Fae than in canon. Evony kills then raises Bo, because you can never go wrong with necromancy.

Lauren/Evony: They were EVERYTHING I LOVE in a ship and then suddenly it was all fake and just something to punish Evony with and like - I love a good awful manipulative relationship, yknow, but something about how this shook out just felt so mean-spirited that I couldn't enjoy it. Something that equalises them a bit - something where Evony being turned human feels less like a punishment for her sexuality, and more like Lauren's own brand of Fae politicking. Something that deals with the result of Evony being turned Fae again, or an AU where the two of them lead the Dark Fae together.

Overwatch

General: I am up to date with canon, but am happy for you to cherry-pick bits and pieces, or treat most of the specifics as a suggestion. I am equally happy with pre-Fall and post-Fall fics. For Amélie ships, I have no preference if fic is set when she's Amélie or Widowmaker or both, and I also don't have a preference for never-married-to-Gerard!AUs vs pining/infidelity/open marriage. If Mercy's relevant to your fic, I am happy to see dark!Mercy as well as Overwatch!Mercy. Leaning into the body horror aspects around Ana's missing eye encouraged (I have a special love for flowers growing in the empty eye socket, because, well, I'm me) but not required. Any AU based off any skins for the requested characters (e.g. witch!Mercy, pirate!Ana, comtesse!Amélie) is welcome even if I haven't specified the general version of that AU in my likes. If you want to address the age gaps in Ana ships, I really love how comfortable Ana is in her own skin, with her own age (even/especially her missing eye) and how that contrasts with her mixed feelings about what she's done, so anything that highlights that would be lovely.

Ana/Amélie: Not quite colleague-friend-lovers who can't quite kill each other, the best of the best who keep chasing after each other because there shouldn't be two of them but there are and an undeniable part of them loves it, aka the reason I fell into this game and this canon in the first place. I love the angst of their situationally-enforced separation and how they're women who draw lines between killing and leaving to die but can't quite examine the difference because that comes to close to their feelings. The problem of 'I should kill you but I can't hurt you because you have already hurt too much because of me' gives me life.
  • Marriagefic! Undercover as married, or married post-Fall because Ana is guilty and her eye and Gerard are both gone and Amélie is alone and and nothing's right but maybe they can make it better, and at least someone else is close by.

  • Post-Recall fics where Amélie's been rescued and Ana tries to help her adjust to leaving life-as-an-assassin behind while Amélie helps Ana come to terms with the fact that no matter what she says she was an assassin.

  • Ana gets captured by Talon and Amélie helps her escape (and Ana either takes her along, or struggles with how Amélie couldn't escape with her).

  • Semi-anonymous meetings while Ana's working as the Shrike - she knows exactly who Amélie is, but Amélie doesn't know who she is. Information exchanges, Ana trying to secretly help Amélie.

  • If you're wanting to write smut, I am really into the idea of Ana agreeing to rough/extreme sex out of guilt for what she (thinks she) did to Amélie, and Amélie going with it because she's still not really connecting to her feelings, and just - everything about that gorgeously fraught bad-idea dynamic. Hatesex with Shrike!Ana that turns unexpectedly tender for tiny moments is also excellent.

Ana/Ashe: Vigilante protector meets bored criminal gang leader and I feel like it's a tossup whether you get literal explosions, really good sex or both (I like all those options).
  • I would love undercover-as-a-couple fic for them, or Ana infiltrating the Deadlock Game for Reasons (those Reasons are probably 'Gabe wouldn't do it and I have nothing else to do with my time').

  • Anonymous/semi-anonymous sex - everyone knows who Captain Ana Amari is, but Ana has no idea who Ashe is until it's far too late to back out.

  • AU where Ashe follows McCree to Overwatch and her relationship with Ana develops from there.

  • One of Ashe's kill-witness lines is 'you should join my crew' - in what scenario (post-Fall?) might she tell Ana that? What does their life together look like if Ana accepts?

Ana/Brigitte: Did someone say really fucked up hate-loyalty dynamics? Whether it takes the form of missionfic or vampire AUs, I love it all.
  • I'd love something where Brigitte is Ana's squire/protege instead of Reinhardt's, and Ana's possessive side gets to come out.

  • Brigitte has so many conflicted feelings about Overwatch and what the organisation did to her father and Ana's ... pretty much synonymous with Overwatch in a lot of ways, so I'd love to see them trying to work that out. I especially like Ana submitting to really bad idea sex and/or missions because she thinks she deserves it for what she did to Brig's family.

  • Or something set a little into the future, where they get to build a post-war life together.

  • Something incorporating Egyptian and/or Swedish mythology, whether it's late-night storytelling together or something very supernatural-flavoured.

Ana/Hana: There's the potential for so much emotional mentor/protege stuff here, and I want any and all of it. One of my favourite things about this pairing is just how many different directions it could go in, these are just some suggestions.
  • There is a strong possibility for shenanigans given their 'youth is wasted on the young' / 'come on Ana, I bet you did all sorts of crazy stuff when you were my age' exchange. I would like to see those shenanigans, especially if they unexpectedly turn serious due to an omnic attack or something.

  • Or you could do the exact opposite! Lean into the angst of Ana watching her lover having to fight another war because of Overwatch's old failures. Hana thinking that Overwatch would be a little more freeing than the Army, and Ana helping her cope when it's not.

  • Meetings post-Shooting Star, and Ana helping Hana with the recovery.

  • Something epistolary/video-epistolary - Hana leaving videos for her around the world, or doing streams with Ana. Anything that leans into Hana trying to juggle streaming with her army responsibilities in general.

  • Or just give these two tired soldiers time to relax and enjoy each other's company - watching sunsets from various base rooftops around the world while Ana accompanies Hana on some world press tour.

Ana/Mercy: I love magic AUs for them - witch!Mercy is brilliant and I lived in that skin before All-Stars 2019, don't @ me it's perfect. In any universe, I like how long their relationship spans, and how it remains steadily affectionate, if not uncomplicated, through stolen technology and faked deaths. Mercy has a not-insignificant amount of hero worship for Ana, and I like both the uneven power dynamics of early-Overwatch days, the more equal footing they find themselves on post-Recall, and everything in between.
  • Rez is already lovingly bonkers video-game logic, so why not make it even more excellently eldritch: rez either requires or is equivalent to marriage, and Ana and Mercy find that out the hard way. With or without marriage: lean into the horror aspects of rez/magic healing in general.

  • Dark Mercy (with dark!Ana or not). I love Moira, don't get me wrong, but her release softed a lot too many of canon Mercy's edges, and I love all our old ideas about Mercy being responsible for the worst of what happened to Gabriel. What might happen if she ends up, involuntarily or not, leaning into all that power, all that potential for transformation? Combine with Ana's weaponised biotic tech and the world is probably not ready for them either.

  • Ana has a complicated relationship with death and Mercy has weird messy feelings about being devoted to Ana but also having the power to kill and bring her back, so I am super into edgeplay-to-the-edge-of-death with them - maybe it goes too far, resurrection and guilt and the somewhat-ambiguous sense of betrayal that seems to hang over them.

  • Post-Recall reconciliations. The kind of weary bonding that comes from having seen So Much Shit on the frontlines, realising the depth of their feelings during a mission and just being - hey, this really is an important person in my life, not just an important colleague.

  • Bastet AUs or post-story fics: one where Ana and Jack do go see Mercy, or one where Ana and Mercy started a relationship while Ana was the Shrike (up to you whether Mercy knew Ana's identity, in that case!). Something that explores how Ana went from 'not seeing Angela, nope' in Bastet to 'actually I could live in Angela's kitchen now' in Valkyrie.

Ana/Mina: I am very simple: I love these two and I want them together. I fell in love with Mina in Echo's intro video and I want infinitely more of her. As First Strike isn't canon anymore, I'd love Mina being one of the Overwatch founders, but you can have them meet later if that's what you'd rather.
  • Any kind of bonding over their determination to make the world better, possibly combined with fighting over each other's methods for making the world better.

  • Mina faked her death and she and Ana have a brief Hawaii vacation before returning to the fight. This being the Overwatch world, their vacation is nowhere near as simple as they'd like it to be.

  • Mina doesn't die because she's a vampire, and there's thank-fuck-you're-alive sex and also a 'holy fuck there's vampires AND omnics' crisis.

  • Some kind of masked/anonymous meetings while they each think the other's dead and then they have to deal with the discovery of who the other is. Sex loved as a part of this, but optional.

  • Mina was captured rather than killed in the blast, and Ana and Echo team up to rescue her. For extra angst, Echo turning into Mina for part of the mission to make Ana feel better.

Ana/Sombra: Sombra's not loyal to Talon for reasons beyond self-preservation, and I'd love to see Ana trying to exploit that somehow. Whether it's reluctant allies turned real friends, forced to work together once, or anything in between, I'll be delighted.
  • 5 times they didn't mean to end up in bed together + 1 time they definitely did it on purpose. I'm weak for them trying to seduce the other away from their respective organisations, okay.

  • Secret meetings between Sombra and Shrike!Ana, where strictly business transactions give way to an unexpected friendship.

  • Espionage, spy shenanigans, and odd teamups in unexpected places where they pretend not to know who the other is in general.

  • Something that leans into their respective proficiences in biotic and cybernetic engineering.

  • I love them OT3'd with Amelie! Talon resuce time? Sombra acting as messenger and slowly becoming an equal part of their relationship?

  • AU where Ana ended up founding Talon instead of Gabriel. How does that affect Sombra's willingness to work with them?

  • One or both is a vampire.

Ana/Symmetra: I don't have super specific prompts for them, tbh. Something with hard-light building, Ana helping Symmetra work through her feelings about Vishkar.

Hana/Sombra: Women who were forced to grow up far too fast with excellent tech/mechanic skills, yes please!
  • I think there is the potential for incredibly messy emotional stuff here - I really like the angst of 'trying to help each other recover and realising too late that they're doing the opposite' ships.

  • If you're not feeling angst, genuine SAME TRAUMA bonding/recovery opportunities.

  • Sombra trying to give Hana a chance at a normal life (sneaking her away from a press tour one night?) but not really having a great idea of what 'normal' looks like.

  • Talon!Hana, maybe in a Korea-falls AU, or Talon just thinks her stardom would be useful to have on their side. Sombra is her reluctant handler.

Tidelands

General: This is an eight-episode Netflix show about Australian half-mermaids who smuggle drugs and are contemplating ending the world and are just ridiculously pretty. There's small-town weirdness, cult weirdness, WITCH MERMAIDS, prophecies, and murder. And I love it. You should watch it, it delights me and I want so much more of them. When I've requested both & and / versions of a pairing, I will 100% love whichever direction you chose to take the prompts. Combining any of these women into F/F/F threesomes welcome.

Adrielle/Cal: Adrielle looked at Cal and went 'this woman is gonna murder me, I better seduce and/or attempt to murder her first' and you know what? Valid, delightful, I'm in love, I want 10k of murder attempts and mind games and hatefucking, in any combination.
  • Somnophilia, either in a PWP or as part of a longer fic. Look, this screencap came for my whole entire life.

  • Adrielle recovers, remains queen, and keeps Cal in Geneveva's old cell. Does Cal try endlessly to escape? Does Adrielle really try to end the world?

  • Adrielle recovers, but loses the queenship to Cal. How do they move forward? Does Adrielle plot to get her leadership back?

  • Roleswap. Augie went to jail, Cal picked up drug running and sleeping with Adrielle. Now she's trying to balance her relationship with Adrielle - which is deeper than Augie's canon one with her - with her brother's return.

Adrielle/Leandra: Oh I am weak for the queen-and-her-too-fierce-protector dynamic and I'm so sad we lost Leandra so abruptly.
  • Adrielle resurrects Leandra. Tidelander lifesaving magic seems tied to blood manipulation and like maybe it only works if someone's only mostly dead, but: maybe Leandra is only mostly dead, maybe being Queen means she has a more necromatic slant to her powers if she wants.

  • First meetings, or first times. How old was Adrielle when Leandra came to L'Attente? When did they start sleeping together? When did Adrielle decide Leandra would be her unofficial guard captain?

  • They get a murder roadtrip. They get an antiquing road trip. They get a combination murder and antiquing road trip.

  • I am reeeally into the idea of Tidelanders-in-history fic. What did L'Attente look like a hundred years ago? Two hundred? How does their relationship change over the decades?

Adrielle/Violca: Attempted murder, and other surefire ways to make me ship things.
  • Violca comes back, thinking enough time has passed that Adrielle's been deposed. She's wrong.

  • *Looks at Madeleine Madden* Not to be even more niche, but, Picnic at Hanging Rock crossover/fusion? I enjoy the idea of present-day L'Attente being what's past the rock, and Adrielle and Violca dealing with Marion and Miranda.

  • AU where Adrielle manages to keep Violca loyal, with some combination of threats/promises/sex/privileges. All the dubconny emotional manipulation please!

  • Adrielle is sleeping with Violca to keep her close, but Violca betrays her anyway.

Adrielle & Dylan: I love the layers to their relationship, the way that care and anger coexist, and they way they deal with the contradictions of loyalty vs necessity. Post-canon fic where Adrielle survives and they have Things To Deal With would be great.

Cal & or / Leandra: I think about Cal trying to pick a fight with Leandra while Leandra refuses to fight back on Adrielle's orders ... okay not Every Day but A Lot.
  • Leandra finds Cal before Corey in the morgue, tries to kill her or takes her back to Adrielle. What does their conversation on the way back to L'Attente? What changes?

  • Cal tries to seduce Leandra to get closer to Adrielle. Does it backfire? Succeed?

  • Post-canon, recovered Queen Adrielle has a mission for Cal and sends Leandra along as handler. For a shippy scenario, Leandra takes the opportunity to seduce her, on Adrielle's orders or not.

Cal & Rosa: Rosa is Such a terrible mother and Such a wonderful character and gods I love how much they hate each other. I'd be really interested in post-canon fic with Tidelander Queen Cal, but any time you want to set it is good.

Cal & or / Violca: Uneasy sorta-allies that should have had more time together!
  • Post-canon. Cal is Queen, and Violca her right hand.

  • Canon divergence. Cal and Violca manage to flee together (murder road boat trip, anyone?)

  • Cal befriends/starts sleeping with Violca when she first gets back. She doesn't know what Violca is, but Violca knows exactly what possibilities this opens up.

The Basic Eight

General: More high school experiences would be improved by absinthe and murder, tbqh. I love the black comedy of the book, and Flan is one of my favourite unreliable narrators, and I just want more, especially post-canon stuff.

Flannery/Natasha: What a delightful mess of unreality and obsessive creation.
  • Jailbreak! Flannery, out of jail (perhaps with Natasha's help?) and on the run, chronicling her escape and her new life. Murder road trips encouraged.

  • Post-canon, in an AU where Flan never goes to jail, she and Natasha run into another member of the Basic Eight - except this time, other people can see Natasha too.

  • Battlestar Galactica AU. I know it's not an AU I usually request, but I need (more of) Natasha as the Six to Flan's Baltar in my life.

  • Natasha is real, and the weirdness comes from the fact that they killed Flan's parents pre-canon and are covering it up.

The Raven Cycle - Maggie Stiefvater

General: I love these witchy ladies SO MUCH I allow this series its ridiculous mythology opinions. It makes no sense! It's fun and I don't care! Here for magic, survival, and a slightly more complex take on 'love' than the books had.

Persephone/Blue: Bad idea and entirely inapprpriate sexy witch mentorships! I love how off-centre Persephone is, how she has her own sort of overlay to the world, and I want to see more of Blue from her POV. Any and all stories where she survives, in canon divergence or because of necromancy. Also: time loops.

Helen/Blue: I like Blue deciding that if she can't have Gansey without killing him, she'll just sleep with his sister instead. They're a fun friends-with-sex-benefits. Also ... helicopter rides. I mean, who wouldn't be into that?

Helen/Orla: Again: no one can resist helicopter rides. They've got similar tastes for scheming, and I'd lvoe for them to take on the world together.

Calla/Persephone/Maura: My Raven Cycle OT3! I like stories about them finding home in each other and darkfic that leans into the horror of Knowing Things/magic in general equally.
